Texas woman sues after she says her disabled daughter was sexually assaulted at group home

From The Austin American-Statesman:

An Austin woman who says her daughter was sexually assaulted last year at a Houston-area home for people with mental disabilities has sued the facility.

A lawsuit filed in district court in Harris County accuses Willow River Farms and its director of failing to properly supervise residents and seeks unspecified damages. Gloria Culpepper, whose 42-year-old daughter no longer lives at the facility, says her daughter was assaulted by a fellow resident.

The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation, a Houston nonprofit that runs Willow River Farms, is also a defendant in the suit.

The center's executive director, Eva Aguirre, said: "We strongly disagree with the allegations." She declined to comment further "because it is an active lawsuit."
